佛支提

Buddha's (sa) caitya, or (sa) stūpa, v. [lang id =1028]支提. A Buddhist reliquary, or pagoda, where relics of the Buddha, [lang id =1028]舍利 (sa) śarīra, were kept; a (sa) stūpa [lang id =1028]塔婆 was a tower for relics; such towers are of varying shape; originally sepulchres, then mere cenotaphs, they have become symbols of Buddhism.
